Plan a Group Cruise
Reunions, clubs, weddings and celebrations — a practical guide for the person who brings everyone together.
Request a Group QuoteWhy Plan a Group Cruise?
A cruise is one of the easiest ways to take a group on vacation. Everyone sleeps, eats and is entertained in one place, the price of a cabin covers most of the essentials, and the ship moves you from destination to destination without anyone having to organize buses, hotels or restaurants.
That’s why families, reunion committees, clubs, churches, alumni associations and wedding parties keep coming back to cruising. A group can be as small as a few cabins of friends or as large as several hundred people from the same organization. Each traveler can choose the cabin and budget that suits them, older relatives and young children can travel together comfortably, and there are plenty of chances to be together — at a private dinner, a group excursion or a reserved cocktail hour — and to go your own way the rest of the time.
Group Cruise Planner is a free guide for the person who ends up organizing it all: the group leader. Here you’ll learn how cruise lines handle groups, what to do and when, how to keep everyone informed and how to avoid the common mistakes.

Group Cruise FAQ
Answers to the questions group leaders ask most.
The Group Cruise in Five Steps
- Gather interest. Find out roughly how many people want to come, their budgets and when they can travel.
- Pick the cruise. Choose a ship, itinerary and sailing date that works for most of the group. Think about ages, mobility, budget and the departure port.
- Reserve a group block. An advisor asks the cruise line to hold a set of cabins for your group at group rates, usually with a deadline to name guests and pay deposits.
- Fill the cabins. Share the details, collect names and make sure everyone pays the deposit and final payment on time.
- Plan the together moments. A group dinner, a private party, matching shirts or a shore excursion just for your group.

Group Cruise or Everyone Books Separately?
| Group booking | Everyone books on their own | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | Group rate held for the group, subject to the line’s terms | Whatever the fare is on the day each person books |
| Cabins | A block reserved together, often near each other | Wherever is available |
| Amenities | Groups may earn extras such as onboard credit or a cocktail party; terms vary by line | None for the group |
| Coordination | One advisor tracks everyone’s booking and payments | Each person on their own |
| Private events | Easier to arrange as a recognized group | Harder to arrange |
For most gatherings of more than a few cabins, a group booking through an advisor is simpler and gives you more control. Our cruise advisors at Mister Cruise handle group bookings personally, from the first quote to the last final payment.
